App Review~ Lift: an obsessive compulsive’s dream app
This (as of today) free iTunes app lets you choose good habits from a list or make up your own. Then every day when you accomplish one of these chosen good habits, you get to tap a check button to show that you’ve done it. You can also add personalized notes to your check-in, as well as see how other people with the same goal are doing. It also tells you when you’re on a hot streak and can show a bar graph of your progress.
I’ve been using the app for about two months and i’m really into it. I have 7 habits I’ve chosen so far, including things like ‘floss’, ‘no sweets’, and ‘take multivitamin’. Of course, it’s pretty obvious that i am an obsessive list-maker, so I’ve already been doing something like this without the app.
Herein lies the problem…if you’re not already at least a teensy bit OCD, odds are you will forget to log, or just won’t care to. So really, it doesn’t help inefficient people to become more efficient, it just pats already efficient people on the back.
